Exclamation New excess baggage charges for sporting goods - Lufthansa

Just received the attached update through our travel agents! We must not lose sight of the fact that we are all valued customers. This is not a penalty, it is merely a means of our supporting the huge profits that established, successful carriers such as Lufthansa generate each year.

Unfortunately for divers this will only worsen with time and increasing operating costs...

Look at it from the bright side, Atleast you got in writing that you're allowed to take tanks, as long as the're empty.

Funny that in the same (medium) size/weight bracket, you pay twice as much for a bike as for your kite.

And you pay 3 times as much for your your fishing stuff as for (water) ski gear.

There must be a logic to this, but I'm buggered if I see it.

Denz.

The price will largely depend on whether something can be handled automatically (such as stuff in a normal suitcase), has to be handled semi-automatic (on oversize lines with specific screening equipment) or has to be handled completely manually such as live annimals (e.g. fish) and firearms. Bikes require much attention.
Oh and there's the commercial argument. What if I charge extra for golf bags? Will it loose me some captains of industry? And finally Is our CEO a golfer

Thank you for this laugh!! The wind is hammering off the windows and I am stuck in-doors!!

You have to feel sorry for those poor golfers though with their hefty club and green fees?? life must be sooooo tough for them???

Regards
Midnight
