Actually that is two rebreathers...

He switched at 12 hours between two scrubber canisters.
It seems they were concerned if a single canister would make it.
website general- Wakulla 2 Expedition of the US Deep Caving Team, Inc.

This is in no way a critism of Alex's comments- merely a footnote.

Re: Can anyone answer this

EKPP you can ask db8us here at Rebreather World, he's a push diver.
Both KPPs have websites, too, with info on their explorations.

Didn't Wally and Reinhardt use dual RB80's for their big dives?

Yes, IIRC, Reinhard changed over to the 2nd unit after a fixed amount of time and Michael stayed on the same one to test the duration.

The WKPP RB80 divers bail off their bottom RB80s and onto what they call 'deco' RB80s once they reach 10 hours on the scrubbers. IIRC their longest dives so far is 25hours or so (but thats O2 on OC)

I found the talks at the GUE conferance on their Rebreather protocals and dive set up methods very interesting - its plain wrong that they are not represented fully here - some amazing stuff is being done.
