| In my own little world ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | The elbow on my wing does not fit properly with the handle. It's an Oxycheq and bangs up against the handle. sorry but there isn't much i can do if a wing type clashes a little, i wish i make it an all singing dancing but i don't think that will ever happenIt's been so long since I changed it, but on the lower part where you had the wing nuts, I removed them and tapped the aluminum to accept a nice, round headed, allen bolt. Not a line trap now. I really enjoy the stand! I just wish I was smarter when removing the head from my Meg. I always tend to rack my fingers...probably just my stupidity! Thanks for your great products! the bolts and wing nuts that go through the removable plate are very low profile button head bolt so they are not line trap, do you have a picture of what was the problem with yours? Quote: Hey if it will help I will be willing to be an experimental test subject of the new sport kiss prototype ! Full factory sponsorship of course LOL i get a lot of offers like that one and if i took them up i would be out of business in a week!!![]() Quote: How about designing the stand so that it replaces the spine in the Classic KISS, now that would be an elegant solution ... this has been done by Portland already....you replace the hole lung case with a stainless one that has a stand built in,, but it's expensive and very heavy. Probably a little expensive though. mine was made to fit more than one rebreather so to keep costs down, and to be as light as possible so not to upset trim to much now it should fit kiss, meg and any other rebreather with a central scrubber that can rest on the bottom of the stand. DOES ANY ONE ON CL KISS OR MEG STANDS have problems with the D-rings??? i can extend the d-ring more out to the side? Or is it more a problem on the sport kiss model? now is it enothe that i round the inside of the handle or dose it need widening? this will cost some more and i was trying to cut it stand out of one piece of material but if it's a problem then i will make the the extra parts to fit to them. kind regards john routley

| Curmudgeon ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: This Is Your Chance To Make A Change!! for the handle, I was thinking in terms of plastic semicircle that could be cememted onto each side to widen them out a bit. Kind of like on a full-tang knife.

Regarding the handle, just rounding off the corners would make it a lot more comfortable Regards, |

How about making a single piece backplate/stand combo? could be done but i think to many people would moan that it's not like this or not like that.Quote: Will the price still be 130£ for a Classic KISS stand? What will the estimated production time be? im afraid it wont be, every thing i make is priced as keen as possible so any extra work or materials with have to be reflected in the price, I'm now completely out of kiss/meg stands, the last one went on Friday so when i can close this thread and make some decisions on what to do for the best then it will be a few weeks after that. Quote: I use mine on a classic Kiss and don't have problems reaching the D-rings but I guess its a case of if the stand was a little wider then it would make it easier to reach. the D-ring started as a way to waist some weight and make it a little more functional, the with of the stand was set so it does' not interfere with valve shut downs also making it wider will mean that a 1.5lt or 2lt tank will be very hard to turn on and off or it will have to be off centre so you can reach the valve.Regarding the handle, just rounding off the corners would make it a lot more comfortable at the moment the d-rings are inside the main structure, i could make them protrude out wards if that will help people but they will then become more prone to bending if they get knocked. all this is very difficult as i don't have the units to test changes on, so little changes will take time to Prof to see if they are adding to the stand or not. the last stand that went out i rounded the inside of the handle loads and it did feel a lot better, when we did it we were trying to keep the price down and make it as simply as possible so now people need to decide if they are willing to pay for major changes or keep it near to the config it is now and just add a few curves to the sharp bits kind regards john routley
