| Money no object - which Rebreather? So like the title says! Money is no object which rebreather would you go for and why? ********************************** I'd go for a Meg. Why - Builld quality is unbeatable, you can choose scrubber you want, including a CIS Lunar radial, you can also choose whatever harness, backplate and first stages you want. Also it is flexible in terms of size of cylinders you can mount and its light and easy to transport. I would like to see electronics updated to include, RGBM deco, also maybe a wireless deco wrist mount. Stuart

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Gotta clear up two items up front: 1. There's a difference of what I want to dive (regularly) and what I would like to own (and dive occasionally) 2. You said "rebreather". If money wasn't an object it should be rebreathers! 1. The Prism Topaz - I really like the capabilities in relation to its size and weight, the transparancy, the ease of use and maintainance, the simple and safe electronics in combination with the analog secondary. In the basics this is a brilliant design ahead of most if not all the 'bells and whizzles' out there. 2. The Infinito - what little I know about this rig is quite fascinating, it seems this is the standard against which others should be measured. 3. The MK-5p - pretty much the predecessor of the Infinto, against which CCRs used to be measured. Tripple electronics, hydrophobic scrubber, ability to recover from flood, the gas switchblock, integrated deco ... you name it, it's probably there. PITA & $$$ to maintain and not perfect, but a landmark. 4 SM1600 - the classic of the group, with modern yet simple and safe Prism electronics. Amazing how well this what, 30 year old design, is. The CCR1000 and it derivatives started eCCR diving, and of those I like the 15.5s the best. 5. SportKiss - like the small size and light weight, just love the simple and transparent maintainance and operation. So all I need now is $8,000 ... $26,000 ... $40,000 ... $55,000 ... $59,000 .... yes, I guess around $59,000 plus change for a shopping spree. And a couple of owners willing to let go. Oh yeah, and on Janwillem's Rebreather WW website there was an ex-Hans Hass Dräger for sale. I'd take that one, too, purely for history's sake and because Hans got me into the bottomless pit in the first place. ![]() |

| I'd have them all if money was no object, so that any RBW member could borrow them and write reviews ![]() I think technically its a hard question though, many are coming here to find out which one they would have !!! DT. |

| Folks, I took in the terms "money no object" but added mentally, it has to exist on some real-term basis. The Cis, once the Rolls-Royce of Rebreather's, is no more. They are around, but support and parts is fading fast. The Infinito, is, for all intents and purposes, vapour-ware. The Ourobouros is here. I have seen it. Nay, even fondled it. Talked to Kevin about it. One can get it---IF---you have the ockers, shin-plasters, cubic wonga! Sadly, I do not. Lovely beast though, and so beautifully put togehther! Rob ![]() |

Lovely beast though, and so beautifully put togehther! Why the Meg over the Horror Bus? To put it simply, I visited the Delta-P stand at LIDS and was less than impressed by the build quality and the attitude of the Delta-P staff. I'm an existing VR3 customer and haven't ben impressed by the customer service so the real clincher is the fact that I don't trust them to support the unit well enough; I'd rather take my chances with a company in another country and get th Meg!

Why don't you!with the current exchange rate fully loaded it comes in a bit cheaper than an Insp with vision electronics! If you don't want to go out there for training then you can get training in this country to, Chris Hutchins or Dave can do it! Stuart |
