| RBW Member Current Rebreather/s: | Poll: Do you fly your ECCR manual? I'm curious how many ECCR diver fly their unit manually and why? I have a YBOD/HH and I let the electronics do the work. Reason: 1. I spent a hell of a lot on money on it; 2. It can control the SP better then me; 3. less task load; and 4. If I want a manual Rebreather I would have gone the KISS route. If the solenoid fires I kick myself in the ass for not paying attention. However, if it is a task loaded dive I do let the controller do the work.

After a while I get tuned in to how often it fires and I will 9 times out of 10 know something is wrong before I check my gauges. And yes I do look at my gauges regularly before anybody assumes I don't. |

| Re: Poll: Do you fly your ECCR manual? There should be a intermediate selection also. I do it sometimes just to keep the skill up. Me too. I think the skill is important and thus worthy of practice. I would say that it's 85/15% in favor of ECCR, in my case. Any deco dive will involve man SP at 1.6 for deco at 6M/20ft, last stop. I'm bored anyway, so why not turn off the power and keep SP manually? Good practice... -Andy |

| Re: Poll: Do you fly your ECCR manual? Manual, always, with min loop volume. I use the electronics as a back up or fail safe in case I screw up. Reason is it forces you to stay aware and in control of the machine. I'm curious how many ECCR diver fly their unit manually and why? I have a YBOD/HH and I let the electronics do the work. Same here, however on the more intensive dives i will let the electronics do their thing Reason is it forces you to stay aware and in control of the machine. ![]()
