This is an almost impossible question to answer and I would advise if any one does try to answer this that you treat it a very loose aproximation. No two divers are the same, no two scrubber absorbents are the same, we don't know how fit you are etc and you do not know what your work rate down there will be. Be careful taking advice on this!!!! |

Recommendation: Do NOT plan on using an original single use disposable scrubber in an actual underwater situation- even a pool dive. When I rebuilt one of my RGUFM rigs last year to make it travel friendly, first order of business was to build a refillable scrubber using the shells of two disposable units. Just for grins I took a sealed scrubber dated 1992 and couch dived it before cutting it open. In less than 30 minutes of sitting still I had a ringing CO2 headache and was really huffing away. When I cut it open the stuff inside was like no ‘sorb I’ve ever seen, big pellets about 6 mm in diameter and 5 to 10 mm long. The refillable scrubber has the same internal volume as the original disposable. Filled w/ 6-12 it lasted a solid 90 minutes in pool testing. Ken |

| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: scrubber rgu-fm I'd trust them for max an hour, with minimal work load. I've dived (or was it dove?) with the rg/u-fm a few times while using the original canisters. I did just under an hour on one of them without any problems. That was with the original 20 odd year old sorb. I'd advise against this "experimenting" these days tho, but it was the first Rebreather ever I got my hands on, and more enthousiasm then knowledge........... Denz. PS if you want something more capable, I have an Atlantis scrubber for sale. ![]()
