precisely... the loop volume that would be flooded is in the order of a few litres and thus buoyancy diff will be a few kg at the most. Totally managable.

wrt total loop volume... I'm not sure off the top of my head, will respond shortly, unless anyone else??

Thanks all for your feedback I will ponder this for a while but I think I am leaning towards a relief in the loop somewhere. I just don't know where yet.
