As those stages are on the right, I presume it's for a set-up dive. Although I could be talking sloblocks.

Or steel haemerroids. Clearly he didn't do a Piles Stop on this dive. Boom-boom.

Personally I'd be more worried about finding a 1st/2nd stage to put on 1 of those cylinders (of course once I'd found he right mix! )

...... Unless of course this is the ultimate DIR fault reduction evolution and the idea is to breathe straight off the pillar valve

As they say stranger things happen in space....

The way they float implys too much helium (is that possible? ) or they are pulling them out after a dive.

One has to wonder, looking at that, whether it might not be easier to run an airline the whole way, would only be marginally more hassle...

LOL, I thought the same thing. Then, of course, I realized that a kink, or slice in the hose along it's length would make for a very bad bailout. And, of course, you'd have to run multiple hoses for the different depths. But hey, the thought of a reel full of hose being rolled out for 3/4 of a mile is pretty funny.

What's the longest length of Umbilical used, is there a limit?

You could just go surface supplied, mixed optimum gasses on the fly with a scavenger unit, making it just like a rebreather!!
