Question Lithium Batteries in Florida

Hi all,

Does anybody know where to buy SAFT Lithium batteries (for my Meg) in Florida?
Are they cheaper than in the rest of the world (god damn expensive in Asia!!)?

Cheers

Hi Cedric-

There is a chain of franchise stores in the US called ‘Batteries Plus’. They are not a discount place, but neither are they overpriced- just call them full retail. They generally stock the C cell lithium 3.6 volt Saft you may want to use for a Meg battery pack.

There are also other choices. See this thread: http://www.rebreatherworld.com/megal...html#post36114 .

Hope this helps.

Re: Lithium Batteries in Florida

Dive Rite Express also keeps them in stock (though I don't know about sizing for the Meg). Dive Rite Express.

devilgas is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Lithium Batteries in Florida

you can find them here as little as $4.oo - $6.00 USD each, no minimum purchase. And I am sure the suppliers can ship internationally.

Just search the web!

Re: Lithium Batteries in Florida

Arg!

The C size cells are close to the limit for transporting of lithium they tend to be counted as hazmat!

I dont know the exact limits, and it seems to be at the discression of the shipper to some extent - but it is my understanding that this is why ISC stopped shipping lithium cells.

In KL we only paid 22.4USD per cell but we got free delivery They seem to be lasting a good length of time, but not certain about the economics of it atm. At 4-6 USD per cell I have no doubt about which option I would choose.

Re: Lithium Batteries in Florida

this may be a good time to mention that I have ordered a flat of C lithium cells to make Meg battery packs and should have them available to ship in about 2 weeks. I expect for the packs to be about $35-40usd each, but will know more when all the parts arrive and I get set up to start building them. I built 2 packs over a year and a half ago and one is still running in the primary side of my meg, the other I sold to a buddy in Cayman and havent heard so would assume its still going strong.
