![]() | Re: Training standards - OC to CC Tmx OK, I just gotta chime in sense this is one of the topics that tends to spin me up.... I completed my TDI entry-level trimix on a dolphin SCR... Right, wrong, or other its how we did it. Since that time I have acquired a clue and am now waiting for my meg. I think my TDI extended range cert certifies me to 200ft Once I complete my meg class, I understand that I will be certified to 155 using air as dilutant. What is my certified depth or what will it be once finish my course? So, I walk into a dive shop and show my TDI Trimix card and ask for a 21/whatever blend, are they breaking any rules by filling my tank? Not according to the standards! I took the class, I understand the dangers and risks associated with the gas. It should not matter if I'm diving a big as set of doubles or on a Rebreather. So the question I have to ask, since I took the class on a Dolphin am I just certified to use trimix in a dolphin? JohnL |

JohnL There comes a point where it is no longer about the diving or getting the gas its all about life insurance. I am insured to dive withing my current levels of certification. thats the end of it. So if I even switch to a diferent CCR id have to re-train or the kidds get bugger all. Id sugest in your case your walking the same tightrope. Look up loss adjuster in the dictionary and it reads "total bastard" they will let your kids starve if a minor loop hole saves them paying out. ATB Mark Chase ATB Mark Chase
