Re: Pocket "allocation"

Used to try and balance everything in pockets, but since I started using a DPV have changed my mind. Now try to keep left pocket as a working pocket, so that I can access stuff whilst driving a DPV. Most frequently needed stuff on top. Discovered that a slightly longer bungee made access easier. Contents wet notes (in separate pocket, working spool, EPIRB attached to insipration case a la pony bracket. Right pocket, yellow dsmb, and emergency spool - separate as I don't know if I'll send yellow up main dsmb line or use emergency spool for searching. Don't have notes on yellow dsmb as its a pain i the ass - could always attach wet notes, that I don't use that much anyway. Spare mask in here also, on double ender. Like the practice of having a working spool as well as emergency one. Emergency one marked at 3m intervals. Maybe a little off topic, but plan is to send up yellow dsmb in emergency on main line (as per convention in UK) and have a tank and weights thown in. Don't think hassle / time to write a note makes it worth it. Still considering how to rid a drop tank - current thoughts are to use a pre inflated float (for time) along with a stage of EAN80 on a 12m rope, with a cople of carabinas so the skipper can attach to my dsmb line. Why 12m? to allow for angle in current, and also so I can pick up / clip off stage prior to needing it @ 9m stop. Why EAN80? So I an accelerate deco at 6m / 9m stops, which are the majority of stop time for the diving I'm doing. Any thoughts on a better way to rig this?

Use DPV as well, it is simple enough to switch DPV to left hand and hold the light with same left hand if using Goodman handle. Then you could access your right pocket while riding (if needed)...

However, there isn't much one could do while continue to ride the DPV like sending up the DSMB or write a note. So why not stop ?
