![]() | depth gauge Hi All I don't dive with a dive comp just use a bottom timer and tables which works for me most of the time. The problem start when i dive beyound 99mt the limit of my BT. I would be interested to know what other rebreather divers are using to measure depth (100-200mts range) apart from a VR3. Also does any one make a bottom timer that goes to the above depths. Old Aladin Pro, the ones where you can change the batteries yourself go as deep as you dare, so do some of the old digital bottom timers that where made by Uwatec but sold under different names and labels. When we took ours past 100m, one stuck at 99.9m and the other one at 00.0m. They also had a problem counting past 99min dive time (if I recall correct) I don't dive with a dive comp just use a bottom timer and tables which works for me most of the time. The problem start when i dive beyound 99mt the limit of my BT. Regards Andyg ![]() However, I have taken Aladin Pro/Nitrox units past 100m that continue to read just fine. They loose the decimal however, so you only get whole meters. I have also taken SUUTO Vypers, HS Explorer and NiTek He units. They also work. If I were to buy a unit just for reading past 100m, I'd get any of the new SUUNTOs that can go into gauge mode. I think the GEKKO is the cheapest option, but I am not 100% sure on that...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: depth gauge Here is a quick comparison of the Suunto computers. The cheaper ones only go to 99m and don't have gauge mode. The only one to go to 199m is the D9. The watch type ones are harder to read because of the smaller numbers. I also have a Uwatec bottom timer but it starts counting from 0 again once it gets to 100m. Suunto.JPG

| aquanaut Current Rebreather/s: | Re: depth gauge some years ago a technician from uwatec told me (quote: innofficial) that their meters and aladin pro calculate safe down to -125 m. as mentioned before they "roll over" at -99 m / -100 m. however from there on their is an increase of possiblity to calculate inaccurate. |
