Re: dui CF200

As Mark (DiverKlondike) mentioned the CF 200 is a terrific suit well built to withstand the harshness of wreck diving. I've had one for over 15 years and just bought another CF. I've used Trilams.neoprenes and vulcanized. None of which could take it to the extent the CF 200 did.

The rock boots are a total pain though...however they are nice when you are scrambling up high rocks and such. Again, the disadvantages are:
upfront cost, ability to dry and a tad slower to swim vs. a trilam. If durability, longevity and reliability are factors I would certainly consider a CF as a tool in my stable.

Re: dui CF200

If you'd like to avoid the DUI dogma, high tide makes a great neoprene suit. They're custom only. Eric's up in Port Orchard, WA he's awesome to work with.

Re: dui CF200

I don't like those stinking rock boots either... But they are nice in limited situations as Ken mentioned... With that I have one suit "with" rock boots and one "without"... Why two dry suits?? Ever been on a multi day off-shore trip and have a seal rip??

Dive Safe....

Re: dui CF200

ahh, the dry suit drama , Has anyone else noticed that a lot of people flood their dry suit when taking there Meg course ???? whats up with that , is it some right of passage ?

Dui makes a fine suit and I have welded and burned what seemed to be a mile of sheet pile and never had a leak or a problem. Just got new seals, a new zipper (they said it needed one) put on after 9 years. its a Flex 50/50.
I have a few other suits and have had no problems with them as-well so I would say go with the one that fits the budget and the application.

I had them put on the rock boots and did not like them , Now I use a Chuck Taylor Converse canvas low top and I love them. Cheap too.

Re: dui CF200

Have had 3 x DUI CF 200X or CF300X for the last 20 years, in my view best suit ever made. I bought a new one a year ago, also did not like the rock boots so I use on top of the sock a standard wet suit boot and it is working fine. My wife is still using from time to time my old CF 300 which is about 12 years old.

Cheers

Re: dui CF200

Hay.
You can have 2 suits for the price from 1 dui cf200.The rock boots are a pain.Just use a plasticbag from the supermarket over the soft boots and take your wellyboots.Works well for me.No more slipping on wet surfaces.
Cheers

Re: dui CF200

Paul

I tried all DUI suits the last 6 years and

TLS350 very comfy, very fragile, very cold on long dives and deco
CLX450 very comfy, more resistant, ok in cold, ok'ish on long dives
CF200 comfy, resistant, warm in cold water

I tried trilam but I'm back on compress neoprene ! CF200

I have had CF, CLx and TLS drysuits. I agree that the CF is heaviest and takes longest to dry, but not 2-3 weeks...

I used to simply hang my CF-200 out in the unheated garage in Belgium (where it rains more than UK), and it is dried in 2-3 days. The TLS dries in a day, and the CLx in 2.

If you want the light(er) weight of trilam and durability of compressed neoprene, check out the CLx-450. I used it for French caves where you have to abuse your suit sometimes to get in/out. And never a problem...

The best fitting cut was the CF-200 though. And the warmest as well.

Re: dui CF200

Used to have a Ursuit http://www.ursuk.com/ursuit/www_en/sukellus/index2.html but now have a Otter Britannic and love it.....my friends that have DUI crushed neoprene are not to happy with them....heavy and take ages to dry....
Got my Britannic custom made and sent to Sweden for half the price of a custom made DUI....
Good luck!
