One of the big attractions of diving rebreather is none of the DIR wannabes try to tell how I should be rigged. I have considered painting the words "proud stroke" on my bottles too. So the answers here is NO.

Hi Dave, no it's MUCH more fun to try and rig it like DIR and then tell real DIR people that you are DIR TEE HEE

I have no boot on the gauges for KISS does that me DIR

Yes, in answer to your question, I do think it would be better if you could take some detailed photos of your homebuild and address your query to GI3, I am sure he would be delighted to clarify if your units are DIR or not <snigger>

No John I never get bored of rebreather talk, in fact I have only got a few non-diving friends left, the rest got scared and skulked away after constantly glazing over on nights out as I tried to convert them to the cause !!

The worst thing is works nights out with colleagues who talk of this other world that I know nothing of, of weekend trips to Ikea and washing the car, these are the people we must work to assimilate to the world of NO BUBBLES!!!

Yes Tyranny has wiped out all the rebreather discussion on YD single handedly

However their loss is Rebreather World's gain!!

11th June NDC I was not aware of that and I am not banned however it's a bit boring there I went to the bottom on my first dive there and there was nowt to see! Still it's as good a mucky puddle as any other for testing gear.

We could have a DIR contest in June, who can rig their Rebreather the most DIR

i think the rest of my world is crap ,they just dont understand, even my diving friends glaze over when im around

DIR i now have a problem with one of there main men.....
a little test trip to stoney sorted that... first dive the breather had a go at me! if i remember the ADV pack up working so desent was intresting as i dont have manual add!
so binned the dive to fix the problem, no big deal.
but the DIR crew had set up camp next to my van!
i arrived at the van a little pissed off and dekitted and the DIR guy looked at me like i was the devil him self, i tried to talk to him but as i was saying hello he just turned his back on
me! his loss! he might have learned something

Hehe!

Yes even my diving friends now say I am a bore but hey I don't understand what is wrong with having rebreathers in the bath and shower and lists of tables and dive profiles next to the toilet!! Gotta have some valuable reading material for those ahem moments

Anyway moving swiftly on, yes I have had some rather angry responses to my emails to the DIR zealots asking simple questions about how me and my rebreather can become DIR too

I also don't have manual add but I am working on this, in a way, although switching to KISS is infinitely better for what I want to do, I have taken a step back with regards to rigging, I really have a lot of work to do to get it back to the same level of redundancy I had with KATO. Be careful about teflon seats for ADVs I have a scary story for you I'll PM it.

Next time you see the DIR guys ask them innocently if they have a spare helmet you can borrow

PS edited as I just thought, can you go OC and take a breath and blow it back into the loop, because if you descent and ADV fails, if it blows out all your onboard diluent and this is also driving your wing, you would just keep descending, and PPO2 would rocket. I have OC/DSV, at the flick of a switch I can go OC, take a breath, flick back to CC and blow the breath back in.

I tried to rig DIR but had trouble with the long hose. Any suggestions?
