Ditto. I've spent many nights on many carriers (Kitty Hawk, Lincoln, Carl Vinson, Constellation, and Nimitz).

Ok, here is a test, aft weapons elevator where does it take you?

Hmmm, I wonder if the kitty-hawk class is fitted out the same?

I use to be able run blue bells in my sleep. I still have vivid dreams of deployments and can walk pretty much the whole ship in my head. I hope they are layed out the same.

ditto to the connie and the ranger.

I wasn't permanently deployed on any of them. I was a DP after all, and have no idea where elevators go but to the weap mags.

Re: ex-USS Oriskany???

Heather has mentioned that on the lower flight deck they have cut out a large square hole that drops down multiple levels. This is going to make things a lot easier to get to CIC and other locations on lower decks. I am not sure if they cut through any forward bulkheads or not?

I have walked the Lexington in Corpus three times and will probably walk her this summer in detail to try and get certain numbers. It's a big ship!
I could see where, I could spend some serious time planning, checking and executing dives on this site.

Could we nominate Heather as onsite rep for this group- since it’s in her backyard and we know she is active with its sinking? -Heather?

Later, Andrew

Cool as that would be I think the article mentioned something about it housing batteries and generators to fire the charges... seems alittle tight after blowing £20mill on the project but was entertaining to see it it survived from one picture to the next!

IIRC we have a wreck off the East coast of the UK, (its a large cargo vessel) that has a second wreck, (sunk much later) thats landed right in one hold, a little fishing boat, Bonus!

It was probably placed on the boat by the chaps in MYTHBUSTERS.
