Talking Thanks to all 'Posters' !

Hi All

I'm a 'newb' to this site and it has been a real help in enabling me to decide which Rebreather to get. Having discussed the options with lot's of different RB owners I have decided to go for the 'Inspo Vision'.

I am now wading through the manual (all 24 volumes).

I am planing to commence my training with Rich at Deep Blue in Plymouth, UK(good locale for me as I live in the S.West), sometime in July. I'll continue to visit the site on a regular basis & hopefully, many, many years from now will have some 'pearls of wisdom' akin to the info I have gleaned from this site to share with you all.

Special thanks to Shadow Diver & Ron Micjan, I found your articles (as well as the many others on this site) invaluable. (Blimey this is beginning to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech)

Right, I'm off, Cheers All.

Re: Thanks to all 'Posters' !

You won't regret it. I took delivery of mine 10 days ago and managed to get in the water with it for the first time yesterday - family commitments meant that it has been sat in its box in the living room enticing me (although I have to confess to several 'armchair' dives - much to the missus enjoyment). I spent a blissful hour at 20 metres watching the large pollack circling above and the colorful wrasse grubbing around in the sand below - excellent!

FWIW - I found using the integrated weight pouches very easy to use and the trim underwater was great - no backache which I used to suffer a little with a separate weight belt. Don't forget the trim pouches tucked away at the top of both sides of the wing for more options.

Walking to the shore, I didn't have the handset strapped to my wrist, so managed to christen it beautifully by swinging it into a rusty iron post - some nice scratches, but no permanent damage - lesson learned

In the water, the unit feels very balanced, although i still feel myself yearning for the clutter-free chest of a backplate and single webbing harness. I did find the position of the hud (even using the 'low' hud mount) obscured my 'vision' - literally - it is hard to see the handset on the left wrist - a few more adjustments required.

Overall, I find the unit a dream to dive - the vision electronics simple and intuitive to operate underwater and above (even downloading the dive profile onto PC was a breeze). The only negative is the harness - built like a battleship and oozing quality workmanship, but just too many d-rings and clips - and a complete PITA to don quickly.

Try putting it on the right side of the DSV then you can look at your handset to your left unobscured
