Convoluted hoses - pros/cons

What are the advantages and disadvantages of convoluted hoses (with spiral corugation)?

One I know of, is that they drain and dry easier.

Spiral corrugation hoses usually have the end molded in, at least the ones I've seen.
Radial corrugation (?) can be cut to length without problems.
