![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Smokers As much as I love a cigar, I do detest the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke in public places such as eateries or confined spaces where you have no choice but be overwhelmed by the smoke. However the insensitivity of smoker in public locations pales to the complete disregard they show at every stop sign or intersection where they dump their ashtrays. Whether you are a scuba diver practicing dangerous activities or a smoker endangering your/others lives, people should respect others needs and not negatively impact those who do not wish to share your poison. I try and smoke cigars where they do not infringe on others comforts, endanger only myself while diving and don’t throw my spent diluent cylinders about public beaches as I would want cigarette smokers to properly dispose of their butts! | Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Smokers yo I gave up smoking around 10 or 11 years ago. 3 times a year I smoke a cigar, as many times a year I have a cup of coffee, about 3 times. How many of you guys drink coffee and how much ?. When visiting colder central european countryes I am repelled and discusted by the amount of smoking that is going on there. And since it is so god damn cold outside the windows are closed ... and the smoke is so thick at times you can't see 20 yards. When coming home early morning after a good weekend binge you smell like a cremation survivor ... I don't mind smokers asd long as they blow the smoke in my face and leave me some space to breathe. Thing I hate the most is the collective health damage smokers cause and the rest of the population has to pay for their treatments. 100 dreds of thousands of people die each year of smoking ... When coming home early morning after a good weekend binge you smell like a cremation survivor ... Japan and Korea are the worst I've seen, but China's pretty bad too. They just haven't been marketed as much. In Korea it's so bad they invented a fabric that when you rub it, it emits a scent (like peppermint) to help offset the stench of cigarette smoke. They make suits out of the stuff for the business men.I don't mind smokers asd long as they blow the smoke in my face and leave me some space to breathe. Matt When I get home from a trip to asia, my suitcase smells like it was recovered from a fire. When you ask them politely to blow their smoke in another direction, they laugh at you, make comments about your barbaric ancestry that they believe you don't understand and blow smoke directly at you. I agree with Ron. I enjoy a good cigar - usually on my back deck, by myself at night. Tim |

I understand the "joy" of smoking cigarettes coming from inhaling the smoke/etc, but since you don't supposedly inhale the smoke from cigars, how do you enjoy a cigar ? Not a troll, just a curious question from a non-smoker. |

You still get the nicotine buzz from the smoke in the mouth. Also, like coffee or wiskey, you come to enjoy the taste. I understand the "joy" of smoking cigarettes coming from inhaling the smoke/etc, but since you don't supposedly inhale the smoke from cigars, how do you enjoy a cigar ? Not a troll, just a curious question from a non-smoker. But more than that, it gives me time to sit out on the deck, reflect on life and look at the stars. You could argue that a cigar isn't needed for that, but I find that without an excuse I don't make the time. The cigar (and a nice single malt or bourbon) forces me to stay put, get over the "I gotta go do something" twitchiness and allows me to have that quality time. About half-way through, I start to relax and enjoy the moment. For me, this happens about once a month. Last edited by trob09 : 18th April 2006 at 13:01. |
