I have never been a smoker or ever seen the attraction, the new law in England stopping smoking in public places (Pubs/bars etc) is long over due (starts in 2007).

I was raised a landlords son and I smoke, but I also agree with you. Forcing the issue is the way to go. I cant see that publicans will be happy to encourage it, but time will tell.

I can't quit at the mo cos I have the breaking strain of a kit-kat. (nowt to do with stress)

Whenever I hear some tech diving type rant on about the dangers of smoking/refined sugar/acrylamide/scare-of-the-month I have to laugh. Compared the dangers of diving, expecially tech diving, it's all background noise.

Nobody's ever died from involuntary exposure to second-hand (or first-hand, for that matter) smoke either. Just like nobody has died from involuntary SCUBA diving.....

And before someone jumps in with an employment-related exposure, you first must show that they were slaves (since employment is voluntary on the part of the employee - anyone can quit at any time for any reason or none at all.)
