![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Smokers I smoke a pipe, and sometimes a cigar. The 1964 Surgeon General's report, the only one to break out pipe smokers as a separate group, determined that they lived, on average, two years longer than non-smokers. So I'm not exactly rushing to quit.... ![]()

| Megalegalegalegadingdong! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Smokers Just received a PM from Nitrojunkie who made a very valid point regarding the anti-smoking medicine, Zyban (Bupropion HCI). I have checked the contraindications and in very rare occasions they can include seizures, vasodilation, muscle spasms, changes in blood sugar levels and faster heartbeat. I have found that the only side effect I have had was slight insomnia at the start but nothing since. Looks like I'll stop taking the tablets prior to the Rebreather World Red Sea trip this month. As with any medication please make sure you discuss this with your physician first. I spoke to my Doctor, but he is not a diver so he was unable to give an opinion. Any doctors out there with any advice on this? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Smokers I used to be highly indifferent, but smokers taught me to be an ultra-militant anti-cigarette type. From the blowing smoke my direction and treating you like a jackass for asking if they wouldn't mind that you don't become their human filter, to them making holes in your clothes or burning your skin with their lit cigarettes on crowded dance floors because they are oblivious, to them making you subsidize their health insurance premiums (speaking of fags! lol) to ruining your dry cleaned dress clothes in 5 minutes, to making out with girls and instead of thinking how fun it was, instead being repulsed by the taste of their ashtray mouths..... The only thing I ever found cigarettes useful for was as time delay fuses for blowing shit up, a decidedly MANLY thing to do. ![]() |

Since you don't inhale them, the risk tends to be confined to the mouth in terms of cancer and such. Is that why its so darn tough to talk? I won't get into the politics on this here as I suspect it'd ignite a flame war.... ![]()

| Holiday diver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Smokers I started smoking when I was 14 and quit for real when I was 29, 4 yrs ago. I quit 1ce before, but started again few months later after moving to egypt. The final quit was together with my ex-wife, and she caved in after just 3 days, and I just hung in there to cheese her off. (which obviously worked.lol) Now I enjoy the occasional cigar with a macallen single malt .... denz.

Last time I saw you with a cigar, you were drinking a rather expensive Cognac... Or do you prefer the whisky now??? As for the smoking thing, I haven't had one since Tues night... As KJ said, quitting is easy, I usually quit at least once a month... ![]()
