![]() ![]() | Leaving Innerspace I am quitting at ISC at the end of the week. I am off to a real chemistry job working with polymer membranes and am looking forward to learning a lot more about them. I started working at ISC about a year ago because as a chemistry student and diver rebreather sparked my interest. So I contacted ISC and agreed to work cheap and they agree to work around my school schedule. So instead of learning how to build rebreathers on my own unit I got paid to do it. This was great, Lean and Steve taught me so much and I will take all that I have learn and try to come up with some great product in the future. Some things I have learn The rebreather industry is small and can not support research There is more then just electronic that make a reabreather work Rebreather are simple in theory but when it comes to practical part they get hard That Leon and Steve work to much What needs to be made for a rebreather Better chemical for scrubbing CO2. The current stuff is throw away I going to make a rechargeable system all you will need is hot water. CO2 Sensor. I know a lot of people are working on this and I hope they keep at it. My is a chemical based system that work like a battery but uses CO2 to power it. (Still working some details on it) Sensor that will tell you how much time you have left on the scrubber. The one I am working on is based not on pH or heat but some other chemical property of the sorb. When done it will tell how much time you have left even if you put in bad sorb. The system will be a lot like a battery charge indicator. No guessing about the time left. |
