Did you do these dives on your Inspiration before having the Boris ? And are you now with the Boris ? Why do you believe the Evolution is not suitable these dives ? Scrubber duration ? I´m not saying that evo is not good. for travel is very good, not heavier than others, but small scrubber could be limitation for long deco dives. i saw evolution´s below 100 mtrs no problem. but i think evo was not develop for dives below 100 mtrs. ( i could be wrong, just my opinion) My first unit was insp, i never had any problem, very good unit, fantastic dives with it. Now i have Boris. i believe Boris was devoloped with deep and long dives in mind. ( more than 100 mtrs, and 6 hrs medium ) Boris incorpore in his design and conception better redundancy than others in market. ( please check Boris web site ) It´s not perfect, but it´s very good. (i like it, more than insp) i just finish my first 50 hrs on unit, i hope start doing deep dives with Boris soon. For me all dives are serious, but dives deeper than 100 are more serious than others, like Jerome 180 mtrs . I´m not against any model or company, i´m not instructor and i don´t have any comercial interest and comission´s. i just love diving wrecks. cheers josé |

José,Thanks. I was just curious about your opinion and thought you had some first-hand experience to form your opinion.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Compare Buddy inspiration to CCR OROBOROUS Well, many have said my vocabulary is vast, others have opined it is not vast at all....so it is safe then to say that I am right in the middle, I am 'half-vast". AP keeps a tight lid on things, as they should, but they are definately working on a CCR named Expedition which will have a recoverable loop....that is about all I have been told so far. My wish list is a small HUD with more info ala Prism, the ability to empty a counterlung during a dive, a hydrophobic membrane, the ability to shunt cell output directly to a visual display to read p02 directly in spite of a total loss of electronics, etc. I agree with DecoWeenie, AP does take a long time to bring a product to the market. Normally this would irritate me, but in the case of AP, it is because they test things extensively in comparison. That incentivises me to wait. Of course, the risk is I might die of natural causes first. ![]() I almost bought Howell's ADV, it is a nice unit. I used to be a prototype aerospace machinist and for the most part Bob knew what he was doing in the machining department, but I am glad I waited because AP's is more compact, lighter, and at least one can get all replacement parts for it. I don't do all the mondo deco dives many here do wher ethe object seems to be make yourself as cluttered and encumbered as possible and see how close you can come to tipping over. To me the CCR's are rather interesting and tech, and it is rather fun being the cock of the walk until such time someone shows up with a Cis or a Boris, and that point I may succumb to major shrinkage, but my backup plan is to then blame it on the cold water. |
