![]() | New to rebreathers and never knew there was such a choice as there is.Now my dilemma. I want a rebreather so I can dive longer not deeper. My max depth would be 200FSW. I like the Meg but would this be over kill for what I want to do with it? Most of my dives would be less than 130 FSW. I have no ambition to really dive deep. I only want to go to 200 FSW is to dive 1 wreck and thats the Daniel J. Morell in Lake Huron. Your thoughts and/or opinion please. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Dilemma At least you are going about this the right way. Having decided that you want to become a rebreather diver, you have examined your diving needs, and identified the type of diving you want to do. This helps to identify which rebreather will best fit your needs. On the other hand, you may not always be limited to the depth specified in your post. You may find, after a while, that you want to go on some wreck diving trips to other areas, where the depths are greater. Most people find, as they go through their diving career, that they buy equipment that is perfectly adequate for what they want to do, until their skill level and desire to do more exceeds the capability of the original equipment. Then, they buy more stuff! With OC stuff, that is usually not a life-threatening crisis, since it is far less expensive. (Unless, of course, your significant other threatens you with a fate worse than death if you buy more of that "junk"!) In the case of CCR stuff it can be much more critical since our stuff, while much better, is still more expensive. This will seal your fate if SWMBO finds out what it actually costs! Now, imagine what would happen to you if you have to buy not one, but two units. I shudder to think.... In the end, it is probably better to stretch your budget once, and have a dive tool that is capable of doing what you want to do now, and well on into the future. Ah, the bliss....the domestic tranquility...the lack of creditors pestering you at all hours! Nirvana!! ![]()

Your thoughts and/or opinion please. In my opinion, for what you want to do, and for the money you want to spend, the KISS Classic fits the bill. You need to pick the Rebreather based on what you want to do and the money you want to spend. Check out the KISS Classic on this site, there is all kinds of information on it.![]() I just got back from a trip to Truk Lagoon diving the ship wrecks of WWll and dove my KISS Classic on two, two hour dives per day for 9 days with many of them to 200'. The Classic is good to 300', is very easy to operate and maintain. Check it out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I really have no great interest in depth, I just like the thought of doing 1 long dive and not having to keep getting fresh tanks. As for buying a second one well when my daughter hits 18 and wants one I guess I'll be buying a 2nd one then LOL. Thanks for the advice. |
