![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: rebreather diver's dream Sorry, see that on next page ( development story ) so stop dreaming, just have to wait and certainly begin to save some money "An IDDM system could also be modified for the US Navy MK-16 or similar UBA for use by EOD divers. Adapting the IDDM into a full facemask configuration is also possible. This future integrated full facemask system could potentially provide the EOD diver with depth, bottom time, cylinder pressure, oxygen level (PPO 2 ), and battery status without large wrist-mounted displays" |

I think it is quite simple really, alot of divers still do not trust wireless transmissions. I have always said a reliable wireless PPO2 would be awesome. How many times do you see it in O/C forums comments about "not trusting the wireless transmissions ....so i added a SPG....and another computer". Most tek divers shunned wireless stuff, went to the BP&W, minimized everything else and the manufacturers said "stuff it...the market isn't there" and the above is from personal observations when diving my o/c days diving a Vytec and getting strange comments

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: rebreather diver's dream Personally, I liked the Uwatec ZO2/Oxy2 combo when I tried it. Shame they don't make a decent pO2/mix computer. The wireless setup does have some advantages, no pesky cable running along the arm, less to entangle, no connector seals to fail. As long as transmission can be reaquired it shouldn't really be much of a problem as long as the diver is made aware of the interuption. In the meantime a pre-set pO2 can kick in, something plenty of divers use anyway. ![]()

The place of this thread is perhaps home made rebreather. But Im also curious of what rebreather divers think about wireless transmitters. Personnaly Im also very excited by HUD _mask with all the important infos ( depth, dive time , PO2 ) that you can read in muddy water independantly of wireless trans mitter |

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: rebreather diver's dream I think they're fine as long as they're not the only means. On a SCR that's okay as it's not really needed. On CCRs you usually have redundancy in displays anyway. As long as I have a reliable backup(s) I wouldn't mind. ![]()

| Submerge Productions Current Rebreather/s: | Re: rebreather diver's dream Has anybody got info about a reliable, secure,two-way short range underwater communication protocol (bluetooth functionality)? My dreamsystem is a central controller + backup contoller/trimix computer inside the rebreather that communicates with the handsets, hud, head-up-display in mask, buddy device on the back, monitor device for instructor, ... without wires. No wire clutter and smaller handsets. Is this science-fiction? Peter |
