What setpoint do you use?

I always dive a pO2 of 1,2 and then raise it to 1,4 or more on deco...
I know some people use, lets say,1,3 through the whole dive....
Some people use less than 1,2...
How do you do it and why? Please explain your ideas on this subject

Cheers
Rodge

Re: What setpoint do you use?

Setpoint 1.2, manual up to 1.3
max deco 1.5

This way suits me better than any other, though my plan will and should vary depending on the dive.

Re: What setpoint do you use?

i use 0.70 from the surface down to 15m then autoswitch kicks in and takes the setpoint to 1.3 which i use for the rest of the descent and all of the bottom phase and asscent/deco, but for the last 5min of the 6m stop i will do a O2 flush and run the unit manualy at 1.5-1.6 for the remaining deco.

Re: What setpoint do you use?

0.7 from surface to Target Depth, Then switch to 1.3 or 1.2 depending on depth and run time, 6mt. O2 flush, air breaks where required.

Re: What setpoint do you use?

I plan on .7 to the bottom and then 1.3 from there on including deco.
I dive .7 surface increasing on decent, adjust to 1.3 odd on bottom hold till at 6m where I flush the system back to 1.5 for the remainder of deco etc.
I do check that the CNS isn't silly. It gives me a little room for error.

Re: What setpoint do you use?

I dive almost every day and don't run it any higher than needed. Normally I use 1.2 and if needed I go to 1.4 for deco but never higher than 1.4. I laso use 1.0 or lower on shallow stuff to keep my O2 loading in reason.

I don't understand this bit? Unless you mean because you'll be spending a hell of a long time in the water on the shallower dives.

When diving everyday I would probably back off the O2 too...pulmonary O2 hit probably means heaven or hell for you. Shallow means inert gas loading isn't as much of a concern, so why not back it off a bit? Yeah, lots of shallow caves to spend oodles of time in. Peacock is a good one...hmm speaking of shallow caves and getting more and more off subject here, but what the hell - Bonnett and many of the caves in the Riviera Maya are VERY shallow that you could take, dare I say OC and be OK). I've been thinking 'bout this for a bit and would probably be as happy in OC in such shallow places. But, hopefully I will just forget how to dive those things and I'll only know how to dive the Rebreather

I dive sometimes 14 or 15 days without a break and I teach cave and trimix so I'm pushing the O2 clock most of the time and 300 OTU's a day don't go far.
