Re: First dive on Boris

Jonny - See what you mean but personally I do advise people who ask to do the Inspiration or Evo course without a rig to wait until they have an idea if and when they will get one. Not very clever for P&L so yes I will not refuse I just don't personally think its a great idea.

Boris parts like the boris itself are bloomin' expensive, I just have the spare O rings and they ain't cheap either .

Re: First dive on Boris

question for regular boris divers: when you do a poolsession, how much weight do you add to make it divable??

had the luck to try a boris in our pool last thursday, but I think 6 kg was added to dive horisontal

regards
paul

I bought Andy's unit from him and had no problem whatsoever in obtaining the parts that were missing, they arrived within 48hrs of being ordered, can you be more specific?

Same answer like Ian, never had any problem to have whatever I need.

Just that he had to wait an extraordinary amount of time and that was somewhat upsetting for him. Now you have his Boris.
Cause - Effect.

Of course if there was some expected delay in some parts that were mission critical you wouldnt have any interest in the heads up would you.
No, none whatsoever.

I have no problems at all getting consumable spares.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

Re: First dive on Boris

Spares ? what for ?

The centre section oring is the same as the breathing hose, mouthpiece side or unit side

Having said that maybe a spare cover would be sensible

Like Jerome said - what spares? A few o-rings, maybe a switch kit for the vr3/primary. Always arrived pretty much the next day.

Dunno what you were doing with it, then....

I use 2 x 2kg mounted on the unit, in the sea, with an O'three crushed neoprene drysuit and winter underwear!

When I took it up to the pool for someone to try, no weight at all in a pool suit.

A common issue for inexperienced rebreather divers is to dive with the loop too full - did you get your divers to run the loop volume down?
