Inspo Cylinders

Hello folks!

First post of a recently "qualified" Inspiration diver (course done in January down at Stoney - I must be mad!). I'm still at that stage where less than perfect technique means I'm not getting a full weekend's dive trip out of just 1 dil and 1 O2 cylinder. I'm looking to get a second set to take away with me. My question is where can I (and possibly a couple of buddies who did the course with me), get Inspiration cylinders "cheaper" than the £240 it would cost me to get them straight from APD? I've heard today that Beaver are doing a valve similar to the APD valve but I haven't had time to chase that one up yet.

If anyone has second hand ones they want to sell I'd be interested in that too.

Try www.godive.net. They have them. Or get a Travelframe, then you can use bigger or different sized cylinders.

Re: Inspo Cylinders

Why not use a transfer whip from a large scuba tank, just top the Inspiration bottles up as you go?

I just split my old twinset and use one as an O2 bank, saves buying yet MORE tanks to keep in test, grumble grumble....

Re: Inspo Cylinders

Thanks guys. Don't want to have to drag and extra 10l of O2 and one of air with me on trips too. I'm still a bit "uppy downy" in the bouyancy front so I go through dil faster than O2. Think I'll go with Alby's idea. Does anyone know if they are all the same threads?

Went to this website and was pissed off... have just placed a large order with APD!! Then I checked the location of the store... Jersey in the Channel Islands.

Beware... it doesn't mention it anywhere on the site...well not that I found quickly and not during the ordering process ... but UK residents are liable to VAT on anything worth more than £18 imported from Jersey into mainland UK...and responsibility for paying the VAT is with the importer. The prices I checked are around 17.5% less than the RRP!!

Re: Inspo Cylinders

I received an order of over £60.00 which was on cell & some clips from rebreatherspares. I have just ordered some pockets as well. I did not pay any VAT.
Steve, you should give them a go, and also 7dayshop.com for batteries for the rebreather. They are in Jersey also. They are slightly cheaper than rebreatherspares, but the postage is more.
I hope to get my shares certificates through from these companies for promoting them so much
