New Oceanic CCR unit on the road

The reps are starting their unoffical road trip showing it off. They hit NC last week, I was not present, but was briefed about their slide presentaion. For some reason they are off to Russia next?

Anyone here had a chance to preview the4 unit yet?

Re: New Oceanic CCR unit on the road

The briefing was done through the new (non-existent) heads up display mask.

Now, please keep in mind that this face mask is rumored to sell from about $1500.00. So if you can’t buy the mask (that has been out for two years now) then the rebreather is going to be incredibly interesting.

Please tell me they did not bring the ‘Phibian´ invisible unit back to life?

Andrew

I'm hoping they have. The Phibian was way ahead of the rest of the game for recreational divers when it did it's roadshow in '94 or '95, and with a little bit of 'modernising' it would be a worthy addition to the units on the market.

what Reps?

Based on your location I assume you may have a few individuals that may have knowledge.

the said unit is for Gov sales only and the project it self has had a few hicups because of loose lips.

Re: New Oceanic CCR unit on the road

It wasn't the Oceanic rep for NC.

I'm the rep and I'll be in CA soon looking at the unit and some other fun toys we are working on.

The Rebreather is coming but not until it is ready.

The military has been using the HUD mask for the last year+, it works and we had a working model of it at DEMA. The model we will release for the recreational market will have all the features of the Atom. Once that is done and tested it will ship.

Right now the VT3 is being test dove by outside evaluators (Divetech in Cayman has a bunch), after that is done the Atom 2.0 is next on the hit list then the HUD mask.

The new management at Oceanic is also sick of showing stuff too early so we are in the process of changing that particular aspect of Oceanic.

Best,

Chris

The project itself is behind locked doors with some cool high tech security.
The only details at this time is yes we do have a rebreather and yes it is being worked on for the recreational market.
