What Mike hasn't mentioned is that his SO is a Lawyer.

Nothing short of a birthday weekend to Paris or letting her have final say on the new house purchase will suffice.

Mate, fall on the sword, admit the faux par and offer to make it up over dinner and dancing. (works for me so far.....)
