Re: Y blocks m&j enginering

Hi Ray

I have a number of M&J fittings....they are beautifully made in stainless steel, rather than plated brass.
'cause some people might point out that if they're going into other existing brass fittings then some galvanic action could occur :-(
I say stuff it, they look so good!

Hi Ray,

I'm considering the same thing... there's a thread here with some info.

Cheers

Re: Y blocks m&j enginering

A friend of mine and I have both replaced the manifolds on our CKs with this fitting. We both found the fitting to be of a very high quality and the installation was a breeze, just don'r forget to buy the adaptor which you'll need to interface the 10' hose coming from the dil reg to the inlet of the fitting. Part numbers are MB-2001 LP Y block and ADT-2002C R adaptor. I'm also including a pic of the assy from my friend's rig. Sure is nice to have the room to manoeuvre in there now when placing/removing the CL.

Re: Y blocks m&j enginering

Okay - question here.....

Afte looking at the Y from MJ I see that it has two 3/8" female ports on one side (great for LP hoses) and one 9/16" female port on the other side. How are you guys connecting the hose on the single side? Does that ADT-2002C adaptor fit into the end of a 2nd stage hose? Or is there some other way to do this that I'm missing?

The adaptor will allow you to connect the stack end of the 10" hose to the Y block.

Its top notch stuff but very expensive. Try Tech-Blue, he has some similar but less costly. Lots of CK adaptors and rigging gear specially made for the job.

Re: Y blocks m&j enginering

Might be nicely made bits of kit, but if you've fitted one of these - from where do you run the wing inflate, and what about plugging in off-board diluent? I s'pose it could all be done from the first stage, but wouldn't that just be potentially more hoses running through the counterlung case?

Re: Y blocks m&j enginering

I run a stand alone hose from the Dil reg to the BCD. I don't run "pluggable" off board bail out at this time. I find that there is plenty of room for the CL with the hoses and Y block cohabiting that space, not a problem.
