How long can I leave it in ?

After preparing the Dolphin last night to do some playing in a pool tonight, but work has got in the way so I'm not going to be able to get in the pool for another week.

Is it okay to leave the Dolphin assembled with the scrubber filled and left in the house ( in the front room to annoy the hell out of the wife ! ) till next week or throw the sorb and re-fill next week ?

Apologies if this is a stupid question.

Re: How long can I leave it in ?

not a stupid question, I will give you the smart answer throw it out and fill when you are ready to dive again. You will have a better dive all around

Hi.

I have a Dolphin myself.
I would leave it in with the loop sealed, and shake the canister to make sure that everything is still nicely packed before going diving.

I'd leave it a month. Or more.
If it was more than a month I'd probably dive anything I'd be so desperate.

Like what is going to happen to the stuff? It's sealed. It will purge the tiny fraction of CO2 in the loop and then just sit hungrily waiting for more. This is not complex chemistry that will degrade over time.

I've just done three quarters of an hour in the pool on mine. I will next dive two and a half weeks later. Am I throwing my new fill? Am I heck. Not because I'm tight but because I'm lazy (efficient) and I don't waste time doing things I don't need to do.

Re: How long can I leave it in ?

I too have left mine after having dives blown out (up to 2 weeks) - the way I look at it, what difference is there being sealed in your breather to sealed in the original container.

As long as no Co2 is getting at it - shoudl be fine. Obviously you do what you feel comfortable with though!

If sealed, there is no difference whether it is in your scrubber can or the sorb drum. I would definitely use it, even a month later. A year later if I was single: the only hazard is your wife could become so fed up she might replace it with cat litter to give you a bad day if she if that inclination.
Cheers

Re: How long can I leave it in ?

Thanks for the replies, I'll leave it in for next week, the unit is sealed, and the room temperature is fine, not freezing or roasting, and I don't expect to be in the pool for long as I want to do some weighting checks.

I don't think she would put kitty litter in, the mood she is in sometimes I'd either find dog-biscuits or sawdust in the scrubber canister.

Thanks
Andy

You clearly have a gem. In that case, I'd move it out of the living room.
