Rebreather beach diving?

Hi All!

alert!

Does anyone here do any beach diving with their Rebreather? I've been invited on some local beach dives, but thus far have resisted... the thought of getting sand in my new baby is just too heartbreaking to contemplate...

BUT, it made me wonder...

-Jesse-

PS- Check out my snazzy new avatar... this one was sneaked by a friend of mine while ascending from a 120ft night dive.

Re: Rebreather beach diving?

I don't think there should be any real problems so long as you hose the unit down thoroughly afterwards, perhaps with a hose-pipe and a slow steady jet of water, should get rid of any sand anywhere. I regulary do 'beach' dives but have to admit that they are 'stoney' beaches, but wouldn't let the sand stop me if the dive site was good!

Helium_diver is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Rebreather beach diving?

I routinely Take my scooter with me and use it as an underwater shovel. Needless to say it puts sand in places it really doesn't belong. But a good rinse afterwards and i have had no problems.
