Sidemount - up there with scooters and HID lights

Ive been testing out Jakubs sidemount thingy for my bailtanks over the last few days and all I can say is this is up there with scooters and HID lights as one of those things that just makes diving so much more fun.

I really enjoy the streamlining, and the fact the tanks are rightout the way and not up my nose.

Ive been messing around inside wrecks with two 12L sidemounted and not felt anywhere near restricted as I would with normal slung tanks.

Anyone who hasnt tried it get Id give it a go - I gaurantee you wont go back!!

Hi Mike, are you using the armadillo?
Is anyonw here using it?
I have tried to get info from ADM about it, but am unsuccessfull
to get any answers, so if anyone is using it with a Meg i would love
to hear your thought about it. And i am really interested in getting
to know the price.

I think that Mike uses the Armadillo butt plate. Have a look at www.golemgear.com under the rebreather section.

I use a Dragon harness with a few modifications keeps you nice and stream lined. You can use 3li to 12li cylinders with it.

Yup thats the one. Easy enough to make one but to be honest I couldnt be bothered and it was not too pricey. Also meant (as I followed the clear and comprehensive setup/adjustment instructions) that it worked spot on first time perfect set up.

Ill try to get one of the muppets Im diving with to take a pic tomorrow - Ive been testing my diy camera housing - so far ok to 72m but I do need a bigger lever.

Just spent 2 hours crawling through a wreck that was very tight - I really felt the benefit of the sidemount far less 'clunk'

Drmike,
Greatly appreciate it. I have been on the phantom jet but never on the bomber. Hopefully next trip. Have a good trip.
