Re: Should I sell my KISS and buy a Meg?

The Meg is an awsome tool no doubt but I went with the CK. The Ck has three advantages over the meg IMHO, less drag, less clutter& a lower profile. I don't dive deeper than the Kiss will go so that advantage is not needed.
After putting a good reg in the DSV/OC & replacing the diaphram in the adv ( your mask should not flood due to the effort to add dil) my only want now is a HUD. That Heliox dive drive looks to be a well made unit! None of the units are perfect for every situation but the kiss is pretty easy to tweek to fit your needs.
To me its not really that one is good & the other is not, its a question of using the right tool for the task at hand. If you are stalking critters at 380 trying to get that perfect photo then the Meg has great advantage. If you are diving in shallower water in tight places then the Kiss really shines.
I'll be sitting in the corner waiting for my beating now.

Hello!
What reg do you use now and what material did you replace the original diaphram with?

Hi Ral,
I'm curious what reg you used to replace the Paragon on your Kiss. My CK ADV is fairly sensitive - sounds like yor ADV O-ring might need glueing back in. If you want a HUD see my thread on Uri's unit and ask silentscuba how he's getting on with his - well pleased with mine.

I love my HUD that I purchased from URI. I just got back from a trip to Truk and it worked great. The HUD allows you to keep a more level PO2 because you are constantly aware of what is going on without waiting to look at your PO2 displays. I highly recommend the unit for any KISS diver.

Have they started to deliver the dive drive yet? Have not heard any feedback on the units.

Dan I use a Scuba Pro G-500. The replacment diapham is Goodyear I think. They both work great.

Neil checked the O-ring it is fine. The diaphram on my ADV was very thick & very stiff. I was told that it was set up to be stiff so as to not activate to easily. The profiles I dive quite often involve many depth changes while dealing with a bit of a current so I needed it to be lighter. If anything I use less dil with the easy ADV.
How much is Uris unit & how much mods are needed to install. I don't want to do anything to the Kiss that requires drilling ect.

No units yet but they should be ready shortly. Looks like it will be a pretty slick setup once they are ready. No perminent mods to the unit, no change in size or weight of the kiss to speak of, better wrist unit, easy calibration, no extra external boxes to stash, small HUD.... the O2 parachute...Whats not to like?

Roger,
Did you use a inner tube as diapham?

If so, something to think about?
