Re: Should I sell my KISS and buy a Meg?

Hi Dan!
First I have to say that I have not dived my Meg yet cause my course is in 2 weeks but I have dived simular setups..
You know how much I struggeled with my CK,I tore that machine apart almost every week, broken circuits, the magnet breakers a few times and plenty more.Did not like the OC/DSV (bailed on 65m and it did not perform well)My Adv was not working great so I like the thought of being able to inject dil manually by just a push of a button,I dived another OTS-lung rebreather and it is much easyer to breathe.
Last but not least, the quality of the Meg is of another world..
As soon as I get back from Norway and my corse I will take it for a few testspins in Vagnhärad and we could meet there so you can have a look or even a go if you like
Cheers

I am quite satisfied with the WOB on my CK, but maybe I am happily unaware.

THIS is something worth consider!
Of course you can add a manual dil to a CK, but I agree that the scrubber seem to be a better construction.

Unless I'm forgetting something, don't you have to reach back around to the ADV to do this, and then push the diaphram/purge? Maybe I should have said "you can't easily manually add dil". I meant that it has no dil add button. Sorry, -Andy

You have right, but have you seen my arms?

You have to do some mod on the ADV, but it can be done!
One example is Peder Seippel's manually add on his SK:9b6f.jpg

I'd say flooding a KISS display is doing it pretty good. Have had flooded YBOD displays in the past. Nothing like coming up from a deep dive and seeing water swishing about.

Also, getting the flu before the trip qualifies. Just to cover myself I ordered extra Kiss electronics. So far, I have not had to use them. Crossing my fingers for now.

On any trip with OC gorillas in tow I make sure to shield all my electronics with hard covers, plastic etc. I've seen too many instances where someone lunches someone else's stuff. As careful as the others may be on a boat, I would Murphy's is always in tow...especially on some the NE boats out here.

Not just on boats, Ken!!! I had the electronics case on a homebuild open on a platform by the edge of the water in a quarry. Turned by back for a minute only to find some muppet had dumped his wet fins right on top of it. Needless to say they accidentally fell in the water. And yep, they were OC divers of the anti-Rebreather, everyone else is wrong, socially dysfunctional flavour...

You were very kind to only to misplace their fins.

In the end there is only one long term remedy to this type of OC/anti Rebreather/dysfunctional problem - KILL THEM ALL . Explanation - I am on my third cup of coffee doing endless paperwork dealing with dysfunctional youth who really need incarceration vs. support therapy.
