Haven't heard that one before, but if they're already making plans to scrap the O2ptima I rather doubt they'll invest into the development of a granular replacement scrubber. ![]()

It would appear the cover of the ADV won't depress far enough to engage the second-stage style ADV. I also think that this was kind of sucky thinking on their part. You can depress it to make it fire. However, it is a real bitch to push on it that hard. I am going to try using it in the water just to see. I have been able to make it fire on land. We'll see if I can do it in water. As far a paying for the PIN and training issue go, I already paid for the Trimix PIN. I just considered it part of the cost of the unit. That made it a little less painful. In a general sense, to me, diving is freedom. If an untrained person wants the freedom to kill him or herself, I am okay with that just as long as the person going into it understands before acting. So, I would prefer no PINs whatsoever. Although I am already Trimix certified, I plan on taking the training anyway before diving it again with my Optima. Whether I pay for training and a PIN or not has nothing to do with it. But, again, I like the idea of being free to make my own decision about it. I respect the decision of others not to go this way. I just ask that you let me know about this before we dive together so that I can make my decision about diving with you. Fair enough? ![]() Last edited by ScubaDadMiami : 17th January 2006 at 19:48. |

I don't know how long your class is, but the shortest class I run takes about 7 days of diving (plus academics).. Thats not much when you look at it on a per day basis..![]()
