CE certification EN 14134/03 and 89/686/EEC

Until now i thougth that the rebreather should be certified, in europe, according to the EN 14134/03 "Respiratory equipment - Self contained rebreathing diving apparatus".

I discovered that at least two SCR sold in Italy are certified CE according to 89/686/EEC regarding "personal protective equipment".

I would be intersted to know if there are other rebreathers sold as "CE certified" who are certified under norms different from EN 14134/03.

Thank you.

Ciao Gibbo,

The difference up there is that some Factories are promoting the own rebreather as CE certified; nobody know that this certification is for Personal Protective Equipment.
A shot in the dark?....Voyager...

Oh...and Happy New Year to you, your Wife and to Massimo when you will see him.

Best,

Nad

CE marking is to the Directive, the standard is how you comply with it.

thats good question, the CE mark for the Dolphin is now 15 years old, so there wasn't any EN marking.
