Converting Barometric Pressure to Mbar

It is my understanding that I can convert Barometric pressure to Mbar by multiplying it by 33.8639. so a Barometric pressure of 30.05 would work out to 30.05 X 33.8639 = 1017.610195 Mbar or roughly just 1017 Mbar . Is this correct?

Assuming that your figure of 30.05 is in inches of mercury that looks about right.

One atmosphere (1 bar) is accepted to be 760mmHg, or about 29.92 inches of mercury.

Note also that 1 bar is 101325 Pa.

Why not just do barometric pressure in millibar in the first place?

In one of the Airspeed Press books, I think it's the dive light one, the author provides a diagram of a light head, with measurements in both Imperial and what he describes as "Godless Metric".

That alone was worth the price of the book.

you should try it it makes life easier

Although having metres Kg Bar etc and then driving in miles and still having pints

and of course weight in stones

saying that its nothing compared to Ireland where the road distances are in KM but the speed limits in MPH whats that about

They are trying, the Interstate running south from Tucson has distances in Km, didn't seem to have a seed limit.
