How do you carry your sling tanks?

Hi all,

A quick poll to know the popularity of the different sling tank configuration. I usually prefer to carry all my sling tanks to be on the left side but the sidemount configuration has several benefits.

Cheers

Re: How do you carry your sling tanks?

Hi Cedric,

I used to have stages on both sides, but since using a Salvo torch I now have it on my right hip so have gone over to mounting my cylinders on my left.

This reminds me, I was at the NDC teaching a Meg course at the same time as Phill Short was teaching a couple of guys the Inspiration.

My students get out of the water and climb onto the pontoon followed by myself with two cylinders on the left.

Phill's face is a treat as he says "No Dave, you haven't gone all DIR on me have you?".

A couple of unprintable words later and Phill had understood, no I hadn't.

I find I don't even notice they are there, I mount my bottom bailout mix on the bottom and my deco mix on top.

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

i will carry them l/r and i will have them sorted by MOD on each side, the least MOD top and the deeper mix further down.

I just attached my new Armadillo butt plate to my ss backplate, so from now on I will have my bailout gas side mounted.

Left side bias, I always start filling the left first.

Re: How do you carry your sling tanks?

Lean left rich right leaving no possibility of mistakes.

IF I am bailing out from a flood or a co2 hit I want it to be as near to a no brainer as possible.

Re: How do you carry your sling tanks?

I second the motion from Mark Chase. I put lean on left and rich on right carried over from my OC days. I also plumb my left stage into the diluent bar on my classic KISS and its set up. I'm thinking about switching to sidemount since the Armadillo plate came out.

Re: How do you carry your sling tanks?

Currently I only dive with one sling tank. It's located on my left side.
