Cell warning !!

Hello,

Yesterday I had a cell warning at the end of the dive ! During the dive was perfect, then at end of dive I decided to test the cells at 6m and see if they reach 1.6 PPo2 and they were ok. Then while surfacing I had a cell warning and was reading ppO2 of 0.2 and other two were 0.7. On land I switched YBOD off and on again without calibartion and reading was good again! Has this happened to you ? Was it some water on face?

Even if it was cell 2, the other two cells should have givern a good reading. If in dout i would change all three cells.

If he was surfacing then he would probably have dropped the setpoint to 0.7 and so I assumed they were reading normally.

It was probably water and if the mv reading are good 21% and 100% I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens again on the same sensor I would change it.

Re: Cell warning !!

I had a very similar cell warning at 65m this summer.

For me it turned out to be a corroded connection to the cell.

My unit is 3 years old and had never had the head serviced. Sent it back to APD who did the head service (New battery box, solenoid overhaul, strip back connections and redo) for £35.

Bargain I thought.

Re: Cell warning !!

Hello all,

Cells are 11months old - 70hrs usage. Set point was 0.7. I will cehck the connection tough, I even checked the cells 5min before with pure O2 and they hit 1.7 no problem!

Re: Cell warning !!

Never heard of such a problem, generally speaking I replace my cells every 4-6 months. Was this the only time this happened? have you tried to recreate a similar situation to duplicate the issue?
