| Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... I've just found an interesting press release from a company developing CO2 sensors for rebreathers. Novel co2 sensors for closed circuit rebreathers - SYNKERA-TECHNOLOGIES Anyone feel like giving them a call and finding out whether they have any prototypes yet? I'm sure they'd like to know there's a whole bunch of us here that are interested in their research and in some cases able and willing to test their sensors. Shame I've not got a rebreather yet our I'd volunteer, Keith. |

| Re: Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... A company called SenseAire has a sensor that is suitable in humid hyperbaric environments (i.e. inside your rig). But, someone needs to work up a means to interpret the signal into a display that makes sense. I've contacted them, and while they appear interest in the concept, development $ is a holdup. would be a good project for one of our current ccr electronics people SenseAir :: Maintenance-free Gas Sensors

| Re: Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... Looking at the specs, the SenseAir CO2 sensors are already compatible with the Liquivision X1/X-Link's CO2 channel. So displaying the data to the diver is easy. However I'm still not sure if their CO2 sensor would be confused by helium or high humidity. I'll send them an inquiry. Eric Fattah Liquivision Products |

| Re: Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... Given enough kit anything which generates a voltage, frequency or current can be displayed. However, very small signals often need an amplifier close to the sensor to minimise noise pickup. Maybe a simple red/amber/green display would be enough, providing the sensor is robust and reliable. Obviously, if it relys on consumable chemistry like oxygen sensors then a proper digital display is desirable. Just my thoughts, Keith. A company called SenseAire has a sensor that is suitable in humid hyperbaric environments (i.e. inside your rig). | Roland Somodi | Re: Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... Hi Gentleman, I tried to e-mail Synkera to get some detailed info about their CO2 sensor, but no success. this is all I got back: to relay for info@synkera.com (in reply to RCPT TO command) Has any of you been able to contact them and get some more info about the Co2 sensor? if so would you mind sharing what you got? Thanks in advance Roland Somodi |

| Re: Someone's developing a CO2 sensor... when alex decides to market his sensor without all the handholding i suspect he will sell a few thousand. until then forget it, i already have a perfectly good rebreather.
