AGA MK II Second Stage IP

Hi,

I have AGA FFM which came with a Second Stage originally, although I never used the mask for OC. I would like to know what's the ideal intermediate pressure for the Second Stage in order to configure the IP of a First Stage to try it out in OC mode.

Would appreciate the info.

Are you talking about what you should set the 1st stage too? I've only had to set up a few hundred of these regs so I can put my hand on heart and say 130psi +/- 5 psi is what is recommended the IP be set too. I think you forgetting that as you dive hydrostatic pressure keeps you 130 psi above bottom pressure.

Re: AGA MK II Second Stage IP

According to Interspiro the AGA should have an IP of no more than 110 psi. At least that's what my manual says. I've used it on OC with several different first stages. At "normal" IP of 130-150, it sometimes honks when I breathe, but it's not really a problem. At 110, I can often sense a higher WOB when on my back, but nothing too bad.

I haven't had a chance to get it on my Rebreather yet. Should have my Divematics BOV and AGA mount very soon.

I believe 110 is for a positive pressure AGA. There has been several different manuals but the most recent is 130 +\- 5; or there about.

Hi!
When you get your mount and bov, could you post some pics of it?

Re: AGA MK II Second Stage IP

Hi,

Thanks guys for all the info. The setup of 130 PSI works well.

Kwinter, you'll see how sweet it is when you try it out for the first time. ;)
