A present from Santa... Last week Santa (disguised as the UPS driver and powered by my Visa card, not reindeer) anyway, he dropped of a new Haskel AG-30 booster. I spent a few hours this weekend putting together fill whips, gauges and all the "stuff" I need to use the Haskel. I mounted it in a 1650 Pelican case I had laying around in the garage that was the home of my dry suits. Perry from High Pressure Technologies hooked me up with the Haskel, the whips a cool digital gauge and all the other stuff I needed. Perry and HPT did an excelent job and are very helpful and good group to work with. Here's a few pics: Last edited by DWill : 6th January 2009 at 18:19.

Re: A present from Santa... Nice rig. Anyone ever consider mounting it on the lid instead of inside it? So, when you open it you can get all around it.

Re: A present from Santa... Nice rig. If you did, when you opened it it would fall over. I mounted ny HI on a sheet of platic that sits on top of one layer of the cut foam. That lifts it up a bit and a couple of elbows pointed up allow the whips to attach without to much trouble.Anyone ever consider mounting it on the lid instead of inside it? The whips attach ok, but pointing the elbows up would work better. And I'd be able to see the inlet gauge better. Thanks for the tip....

Re: A present from Santa... So, obviously mounting it in a Pelican is a good idea for portability.... not sure If I have that need.... I've been kicking around the idea of mounting to the garage wall.... but I've got the whole O2 fear going on, and just worried about incidental contamination, and was thinking, having it all sealed up inside a pelican would certainly keep nasty bits from getting in and around it..., open it up, plug up the whips, boost, then close back up when done.... thoughts? -Tim

Re: A present from Santa... How about 2 blocks that key into the lid. Open the lid. Grab blocks out and put them on lid. Open box and it's sitting up high easy to see. Do they have one that is built like a suitcase? Lid is same height as the bottom? Then mount on either side. I just hate reaching down in a hole at anything. Not to mention all the crap that get's thrown in those boxes. Have 2 surface supplies that are down in the hole and there full of junk.

Plus I had the case already. Downside is I have to get a new home for my Dry Suits... |

Re: A present from Santa... Since its a nice 26C this morning I ran out on the deck and took some pics of my HI (been meaning to do it for a while now) ![]() Pelican 1510 case. Meets carry on luggage size requirements. I buy Storm cases now. Lighter with better latches and wheels. ![]() Packed up ![]() Elbows on the drive, supply, and fill ports. The plastic plug in the middle of the booster stuck up, broke off, and was replaced by a normal LP port plug. Velcro straps come up through the plastic sheet and hold the hoses in place. ![]() The booster mounted on its 1/8 plastic sheet. Don't know what kind it is. I cut open the side of an old storage unit. ![]() The foam layer underneeth has all the supply cylinders adapters, DS4 with 7' inflater hose, and yoke/din adapter. One of the larger cylinder connectors had to have a couple of flat spots carved into its large black hand wheel to allow it to fit down in the storage area. ![]() More or less the way it all gets connected for use. Suply can be a scuba tank or any of the comercial cylinders. Golem Gear suplies the booster, whip, and some adapters. Mcmaster Carr for the elbows. TDL for the 7' inflator hose. Leisurepro for the case but like I said now I prefer storm cases from TheFireStore.
