| How do you use your OPV? Seeing that OR is arguing for a placement of an OPV into an inhalation counterlung, i'd like to know how or if people use their OPV. I personally never use it to dump gas (nose/loose lips give much finer control) on any of my rigs (except RB80 obviously) The only use I have for it is to evacuate water from the loop and that could be batter served by a simple dump valve. How do YOU use your OPV? |

| Re: How do you use your OPV? Personally I can not remember the last time that I vented via the OPV versus mouth/nose as you mentioned. With that I can see a need for it in the case of an ascent on OC. M |

| Re: How do you use your OPV? I'll be adding my full face mask soon and plan to try using the OPV for venting on ascent. For now, I use it when doing a dil flush. |

| Re: How do you use your OPV? I do not use it even with the FFM. Still easier to use nose on Drager Panorama (clears water from the mask too :)). Same for the ascent on OC, rahter than leaving the loop go so big that the OPV must trigger, I open the moutpiece periodically, better buoyancy control IMHO. |

| Re: How do you use your OPV? Ditto only in emergency, meaning when I have to bail-out in oc, ... and even then I dump the loop by opening/closing the DSV above head.ATB Nick Having said that, it's 4 years ago I had to bail out to OC, on a test-rig ![]() .... but the issue about OPV on inhale versus exhale... IMHO is a 'non-issue'... paul

| Re: How do you use your OPV? On the KISS... never. I had mine shimmed up tight so that it wouldn't really dump anyway (even considered epoxying it shut). On the Mk15, I'm a bit more aware of the OPV firing on ascent which is usually combined with the solenoid firing more often which generally acts as a slap round the head to get my lung volume down. |

| Re: How do you use your OPV? me too is that #1, #2, #3 or #4 on the poll? Ditto to your ditto - I selected 3, as I'm firmly of the opinion that a dil flush is an emergency (or response to one)![]()
