If we're on a mixed boat we use a drop tank of air (21%) as we don't know who will be recieving it and if they'll know what to do with it... we can then sort out some 80% or something and swim it down to them as necessary, in the mean time they will at least have something to breath. I voted other as usually its Air on 12mtrs of rope... |

| Classic KISS No. 226 ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Drop tanks I was out on Loyal Watcher a few weeks ago when someone requested a drop bottle (Yellow SMB). Darren drops a single buoy with O2 attached to a 6m line and a 50% attached to a 21m line.It struck me as a damn good idea to have both gases available. Up until now, I had always taken a bottle with 80% and a 9m line, so thats what I selected in the poll, but my revise my system. Cheers Rich

| Re: Drop tanks I go with 50% since it buys you time and gives you a nice depth range. Once Im on that, theres time to sort a safety diver/spare gas from whats left on the boat.

| Classic KISSer Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Drop tanks It depends on with whom I am diving. Some dives, you take your gas with you, nothing will be coming down. Or, either a single drop tank from the boat at 6m with O2, or a little deeper with 80%. Or, a deco station with O2 at 6m and 40% at 30m ready to do and another similar setup on a single line for drifting divers. Hope that helps to the data collecting... cheers Andy |
