| Classic Kiss 124 Current Rebreather/s: | Dive planning It seems alot of guys are using two computers on this board...or want to It just got me thinking about dive planning and how computers are used in CCR diving. With the no computer group it is obvious that the desktop software rules your diving. But for the computer divers, are you diving off the computer the whole time or are you using it as back up. For those of you with two computers, how do you plan the dive...or do you Just curious |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Dive planning I think the dive planned should determine the "amount of planning involved". Anyone is going to treat a 130' wreck dive differently than a 300' dive. I would have no problem extending the bottom time on a 130' dive from 40 to 60 min. if everything is going well. On deep dives I always stick to a predetermined dive plan. I always dive with multiple computers , (3) and back up tables. However if ANYTHING goes wrong, no matter how minor I END my dive. Ability, comfort level and experience are still the best tools to use when planning a dive. I can't recall many deaths when these 3 factors intelligently governed a dive plan. Cheers |

| Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Dive planning I use desktop software (GAP) to plan my dive too have a rough idea of how much deco I will incur and more importantly to ensure I carry enough bail out to cover my asse if I need to come off the breather. I then use a HS Explorer and RGBM and my Shearwater Meg which is GF to actually dive. Basically the Explorer and RGBM controls my deep stops and my shearwater GF usually controls the shallow stops and I always clear both of them as it make me feel safe - if one failed then I would follow the other one but either add in some deeper stops or slightly longer shallower stops. | Home of the TR300 ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Dive planning Hi, we using mostly one Computer (e.g. VR3 or HSE) just for fun Dives. If we plan deeper dives we are using table (the diveplan then is calculatet) the Computer is just for correcting some little under water (backup) or for helping when going bailout. the main instrument is a bottomtimer. we diving mostly CCR diver controlled (KISS-Style) so it is important to know the min and max's in ppO2 during the dive (the ppO2 is changing around a given value). thats all and easy (even KISS too) Holger |
