![]() | Which nappies are best? Now there's a question I never hoped to ask!I am shortly going to be doing my mod 2 / 3 course I need to take either a p valve or nappies. Short term I am opting for nappies. So, with that, in mind which are best or all they all the same? Thanks, |

![]() | Re: Which nappies are best? I probably will after the course, but for now I 'want' to use nappies just becuase they'll be one less thing to worry about. I have been looking at the custom diver he-wee which seems to be well though out but that will definitely have to wait a while. |

Good luck in your course, have fun!I have been looking at the custom diver he-wee which seems to be well though out but that will definitely have to wait a while. The pee valve is pretty much the standard for male divers here in cave country, lately the she-P is also making headway, becoming more widespread. The napppies are bulky and IMO, yucky (yes, that is a medical technical term...) but I'll agree that they will do the job in a pinch. Dive safe and have fun, Celia

I used to use two x normal kiddy nappies just to let off the head of steam, if you get my drift. I left one there after I got my P-valve, which is just as well since blow-back due to kinked pipe is no fun. I still chuck a nappy around it now.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Which nappies are best? My buddie and I used them for years with no problems. Pick something that tapes together so that you can simply untape the sides and remove the used one while you still have your drysuit and thermals on. Naturally if you can remove one with the suit on you can also put on a fresh one with it on, too. We reluctantly went to the P-valve. It hurt to put that hole in a perfectly good drysuit. But, the lengths of our dives were exceeding 4 hours and the nappies just couldn't absorb any more. When we used a scooter, the scooter pulled on the crotch strap which cause the nappies to compress, spilling out everything they had absorbed, so we weren't gaining anything. Been with the P-valve for many years now and they are great. My buddie has a quick-disconnect between the cathether and the suit opening, so that he can leave everything intact when he removes his suit between dives. They are not rocket science. They don't cost much so buy one or two different styles and dry fit them to see which one you like best. You can always donate the ones you don't like to a nursing home. Regards, Bill |
