![]() | VR3 issues recently Hi all,Something interesting happened to my VR3 recently and I was wondering if 1) it had happened to anyone else; and 2) does anyone know why it might have happened? Over the June Bank Holiday weekend, I was diving down in Valentia in Kerry with my club. One the way out to the Skelligs, one of the other divers realised that they had forgotten their computer. As this guy is well dived up and I trust him, I offered him the use of my VR3 which he accepted (I'm on a Vision so I use it as an independnt back-up). I changed it over to air and open-circuit. He also asked for me to increase the safety setting so I duly put it up to 30%, no problems. Off he went diving. When I got the computer back, it was reading MISSED STOPS and wasn't happy. I wasn't particually worried as the first few times I used it, I missed my deep stops as I was concentraiting on the Vision. Turned out I didn't dive again in Kerry so put it away until this weekend down in Kilmore Quay (cracking diving down there). Took it out and it was still showing missed stops. Changed it back to CCR and went diving. Was doing a nice little potter on the Coningbeg to 30m. Evertything seemed fine on the way down. However, when we got to the bottom, I glanced at my VR3 and it told me I had a 2min stop at 22m and was at 495% of CNS loading ! Yikes! Anyway, decided the CNS loading was total crap and would do the stops to see if that fixed it. Did the 2min at 22m, then 2min at 11m but was not going to do 105min at 4.5m !Anyway, completed the dive on the Vision. Afterwards, popped the battery out and left it out for an hour to reset the computer. Put it back, set it for CCR and went diving. Did two more dives to 35m and 40m and it was happy again with no issues .Anyone got any ideas?? Thanks Andy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 issues recently I have seen a few VR3's recently, which have had bad pressure transducers. In fact, I have one on my desk right now which reads "missed stops," because an hour ago it read 450 meters, and the CNS % on it read over 900. It is a possibility, that if the pressure transducer in your unit was acting up intermittently, during a dive, the depth reading could have spiked to some insane depth. Even if just for a moment, it could create an erroneous dive plan, and add some odd stops like you describe. The issue resolving itself with the battery swap could just be coincidence. |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | Re: VR3 issues recently i also had issues with the cns % recently in the sense that i did a few switches to oc bailout during a dive (from 40m to 12m, back on the loop then at 6m switch to pure o2 for a few minutes, back on the loop again) and suddenly the cns % jumped from about 24% to 999%, but no missed deco warning or other things. deco time/tts was also in the range where i had expected it to be. also the profile for that particular dive did not show any spikes depth (neither down nor up). few days later i did the same profile again and all was just fine ![]() cheers --bruno

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: VR3 issues recently Il look like the VR freeze at some depth and keep calculating. Check the hole of the pressure transducer: it has to be free and clean!! Try to check the battery (it must be inserted positive end first) it must move freely on the spring. If the battery coating is too thick and fits too tightly in the cap, this may lead to problems during the dive. Eventually cut the coating away. Hope this help. Nad
