![]() | suggestions for a week or two of Rebreather Diving It looks as if I may, unexpectedly, get a week or two free in September. Given that I am still building my experience after Mod1 I am thinking about using the time to go diving specifically to acumulate Rebreather time. I don't want to spend forever getting there from the UK and I am interested in diving in the 20-35m range with other Rebreather divers. warmish water would be nice but not essential. I would want to minimise the risk of being blown out though. If outside the UK, the place would need to be inspiration friendly to cut down on transport hassles. So any suggestions? Thanks Kevin

You lucky man!I don't want to spend forever getting there from the UK and I am interested in diving in the 20-35m range with other Rebreather divers. warmish water would be nice but not essential. My wife dived with Tekstreme in Sharm on Mod 1 earlier this year and was very impressed. They rent and teach Inspiration, so they'll have everything you need and you shouldn't have a problem hooking up with Rebreather divers. Aaron consistently gets a good write up. Another place that springs to mind, based on the number of Rebreather divers there appear to be there, is Cyprus. Good luck,

![]() | Re: suggestions for a week or two of Rebreather Diving Orca Dive Club, Safaga (near Hurghada) Go there with Regaldive for accomodation/ flights but dive with Marc Crane and the guys at Orca just along the beach from the Menaville hotel (3 minute walk along beach) A great rebreather facility with dedicated rebreather & tec kit area, O2, He, Sorb the lot. Great bunch of guys too. We went in March and put a load of hours on the units. HTH Graham ![]() . |

Both resorts have boosters, O2, lime, stages and helium (when you get your hours up) ![]() Marsa Alam is untouched ande offers some great diving. Aaron |

![]() | Re: suggestions for a week or two of Rebreather Diving Hi Kevin, How about Bali? We will have 5-6 days CCR only trip (mola mola season) in late August/early September. I can PM you the details if you are interested. We have 2 Meg, 1 Evo confirmed so far. We have Sodasorb and Sofnolime here, so you dont have to carry them from home. Cheers, BB |

Thanks Kevin If you want some easy diving that can be alot of fun, try Grand Cayman... Divetek will rent cylinders and sells sorb.. I use GC frequently for training... The water is warm and clea and offers justr about any depth... even right offshore... The temp varies between 26c and 30c depending on the time of year... You dont generally hit the thermalcline until deeper than 100m

I'd vote for GC too - TIna and I completed our air dil (MOD1) training on CK there a few weeks ago.I use GC frequently for training... The water is warm and clea and offers justr about any depth... even right offshore... The temp varies between 26c and 30c depending on the time of year... You dont generally hit the thermalcline until deeper than 100m At DiveTech, rebreather bottle rental (2 2L steel cylinders w/Inspo valves) was CI$40 for the week, and oxygen fills were CI$12 each. 40cf bailout bottle was CI$28 for the week (includes stage rigging but not the regulator). Each day of boat diving (2-tank trip) was CI$80. Anc check out their price on Sofnolime - we ended up taking our own to save a few bucks. Keep in mind that you'll probably be on a normal recreational boat. DiveTech's daily schedule doesn't accommodate rebreather profiles. You'll be limited to two dives of 60 minutes each with a 45 minute surface interval. But if you do get enough rebreather divers together, you may be able to get something different. You'll need to make those arrangements well in advance. For boat diving, the chance of being blown out is low, though if there's a strong wind from the NE or thereabouts, the choice of dive sites will be limited. We wanted to start out with shore dives, and had a very strong NE wind so the only available entry was in West Bay. Its a LONG swim to get to the reef from there ... -- Art |

![]() | Re: suggestions for a week or two of Rebreather Diving Thanks to all who took the time to post. My conclusions: Bali is too far (for a week), Scapa suffers from uncertain weather. So it looks to me as if its Egypt for a week or Grand Cayman for a fortnight. thanks Kevin
