So.. up in the cold north where i live it often drops below 4°C near the surface in the winter when air temperature is -5 to -25°C... mats |

![]() | Re: Dive with CCR in Water at -1°c Try -4 in salt water ! Keep unit out of the cold as long as possible pre breathe in the car or inside boat cabin , pre breathe at least 5mins , use 1st stages with cold kits, 80% alcohol kits work well. check lubricant specifications some go hard at minus , this makes o rings leak. Cover screens with wooley sock, remove in water . FFM mask nice or use goose/ duck fat around lips and exsposed skin. Check manufactorers adivce on scrubber duration. carry two stages,of bailout gas. This is what i learnt this winter on my sports kiss. My coldest dive this year was 0 in water -50 with wind chill on surface. This year in Norway the winter wasnt the coldest. This is only what ive found so far, looking forward to learn more next year. Dean |

The temperature is it a problem for dive with a CCR? http://www.rebreatherworld.com/gener...r-article.html I have never Rebreather-dived in surface water colder than 0 °C with the water being at 1-2 °C during the dive itself so I dont know. As far as i know guys the water cant drop more than 4 degrees for understandable reasons Sea water can get colder than -4°C particularly if its flowing or higher than usual in salt content.![]()

![]() | Re: Dive with CCR in Water at -1°c I confirm that I dove at -1°C in Antarctica, but with a tank 12 L stainless. It's very cold! You can see my report in Antarctica, but not with rebreather: Diving in Antarctica - ScubaBoard If you prefer in French version: Forums plongée Plongeur.com - [CR] Plongée en Antarctique Last edited by Tomeck : 19th April 2008 at 19:21. |
